Hooks/Additional information
I moved to America in 9th grade( I was born in America so I am a US citizen) and I got really sick when I came here and that deeply affected my freshman and sophomore year. I have an upward grade trend since then.
I go to a top 65 ranked high school nationally/top 5 in the state of North Carolina(I don’t want to reveal which one) and our school is known to be very competitive.
I also have a very good raport with my teachers and some have already said that they would write excellent recommendations.

I will apply to NYU for Liberal Studies, Boston College for Business, and UNC for polisci

I think for next year if your full pay you should be fine getting in to those schools, you have good grades , go to a good HS and can afford the schools which will give you a leg up next year when schools budgets will be less.

You’re a really competitive student and I think you have a pretty good chance at getting into these colleges! I wouldn’t worry about your freshman/sophomore year because it was a medical issue, and you have great stats and ECs regardless.

You have a really great profile and would definitely make a competitive applicant for all of these schools. With that being said, you might not be as guaranteed a spot in NYU depending upon the program you are applying to. While you might be a strong fit for NYU’s School of Arts & Sciences, It might be harder for you to get a spot in the more competitive Stern School of Business for example.

You have a strong profile and definitely will have a good chance at these schools if you write strong essays that appropriately support your application.

You seem like a very strong overall applicants with no real weaknesses. Your work with your grandfather’s volunteering organization seems like a great hook/ essay topic, where you can distinguish your interest in volunteering from that of your grandfather, making it your own.

Thank you! I will be attending Emory
