<p>expecting really good recommendations</p>

<p>Major:
not really sure yet, thinking either education or communications (although I am not sure, and I do realize that some of these colleges listed do not have both majors)</p>

<p>Looking at:
Northeastern***
Marist
UVM (my brother goes there)
Umass amherst (cousin goes there, if that helps?)
Fordham
Emerson
Penn State
University of Delaware
Sarah Lawrence
Loyola
Goucher
American</p>

<p>Right now Northeastern is my top choice. (and I haven't visited all of these schools yet, but I really really liked Northeastern). What do I have to get on the SATs to make Northeastern closer to a match than a reach? Is there anything else I can do to increase my chances?</p>

<p>Also I know because of my GPA most of these schools are going to be in the reach category. Does anyone have any suggestions for safety schools?</p>

<p>Thanks in advance</p>

<p>What do you expect to get on the SATs? I think you have a great chance at most of those schools. Umm.. also look at the common data sets for NEU to see what SAT scores you should be aiming for. Your ECs aren't very focused, but there are a lot of them, so I guess thats a +. Good luck!</p>

<p>also my school does not rank</p>

<p>any help ??</p>

<p>"white female from a competitive high school in a wealthy area"</p>

<p>-I REALLY hope you dont think thats gonna help you. and You DEFINATELY need to raise your GPA!!!!!</p>

<p>Good Luck : )</p>

<p>The fact that ur going to a high school in a wealthy area wont matter. If the high school is well known for its rigorousness in the curriculum, that will help.
Chances: Without SATs its hard to evaluate but ill chance u as if SATS wouldnt count at these schools.
Northeastern: reach
Marist: Dont know
UVM: match
Umass amherst: Match
Fordham: Match, its not as hard as they would have u believe.
Emerson: Dont know
Penn State: Reach
University of Delaware: Match/reach
Sarah Lawrence: Safety
Loyola:
-New Orleans: match reach
- Chicago: match
Goucher: dont know
American: reach
Good List overall but in reality the chances are very irrealistic because SATS do weigh in a lot and if u do bad in them ur chances would be significantly affected. DO well on them!</p>

<p>Safeties:
- St. Johns University: in Queens, Ny and imo is similar to Fordham just easier to get into.
- Catholic University of America: I think thats the name. but anyways its a good school in DC. Sure u know which im talking about
- George Mason University: In Fairfax, Virginia, a sprawling upper middle class suburb of DC.
- University of Rhode Island
- University of New Hampshire
The past two resemble UVM in every sense so i thought it was worth mentioning.</p>

<p>Fordham and Sarah Lawrence look like big reaches right now.</p>

<p>ideally what SAT score should I be aiming for to make up for my gpa?</p>

<p>no fordham is not a reach with that GPA and ECs..maybe sarah lawrence but i dont think FU- id say a decent chance at all those schools</p>
