Chance me!!

SAT 1: Writing: 670, Math: 680, Writing: 580. This was my first time taking the SAT without a bit of studying and I will be retaking it in October after a course with Testmasters and will hopefully get around 2100.

SAT II: Haven't taken yet, but expecting above 700 in Spanish, Math IIC, and Biology E.

GPA: 10th grade: 3.83. 11th grade: Unweighted: 3.83, weighted 4.17. There are only 16 people in my class and most have GPAs over 3.5, so ranking doesn't really matter that much, but I'm somewhere in the top 3. I'm also awaiting my results in AP US History and AP Biology, and will take AP Calculus BC, AP Physics C, AP English, and maybe (depending on if the teacher decides to teach it) AP Economics my senior year.

Extracurriculars: Yearbook team, Drama Club, Book Club, Debate Club, Co-President of movie review club, volunteering for 90 hours for the school, over 200 hours spent volunteering for the Russian-Jewish Community of San Francisco. I also work 3-4 hours a day 4-5 days a week for a clothing store where I manage and ship items sold on eBay, and deal with clothes worth thousands of dollars every day. I also played JV Baseball freshman year.

Other significant information: My school is Hebrew Academy of San Francisco; a small, private and religious Jewish school that has a rigorous class schedule: 4 classes pertaining to Judaism in the morning, followed by lunch, and 5 secular classes in the afternoon. Other than English, I am fluent in Russian, know Spanish well enough to speak it with someone who knows nothing but Spanish, and have had three years of Hebrew.

I will be applying to the following as a Business major:
NYU
UC Berkeley
UC Irvine
UC Santa Cruz
U. Michigan Ann Arbor
USC

I will most likely need financial aid for the private universities, but will probably be fine without it for the UCs.

Thanks in advance. =)

NYU- match
UC Berkeley- match
UC Irvine- match
UC Santa Cruz- match
U. Michigan Ann Arbor- match
USC- reach

Thanks. I should also mention that I'll have a recommendation for USC from one of their alumni, if that helps with anything.

Anyone else?

The BUSINESS SCHOOLS at NYU and UMich are reaches for you. Stern and Ross are both top schools in the nation, unless your SAT rises significantly (2100+) I don't see those as being matches for you. Business school admissions are just as competitive as pre-med admissions. Killer.

But you've got great shots of UCIrvine and UCSC. USC could be a wee bit tougher, as could Berkeley.

Yeah, I'm aware that they're the top schools in the nation...that's why I'm applying there haha. Does it really matter what major I apply for? What if I apply for some random major and change it in the middle of freshman year or something?

And UC Irvine and UCSC are more backup schools than places where I want to go to.

Berkeley is my #1 choice.

Bump. Anyone else?
