You're fine. You'll have no problems getting in...

Yeah, you're definately fine. I don't see any reason why UF would reject you. Good luck.

H5, your stats are very nice, but there are no guarantees at UF anymore. We know people with great stats who did not get admitted. The UF calculated gpa for entering freshmen is around 4.0 -- and UF calculates it differently, most likely, that your high school does. Grades from classes like health/phys ed and orchestra will not be included in the calculations. Your Eagle Scout accomplishments will help, but make sure you write strong essays. You have a good solid course load with challenging classes, which is a plus. You look like you would be a great UF student -- good luck to you!

you are in, not just don't slack off and get a C or D.

stats seem good. i had friends with similar stats that were rejected last year though =(

but i've had friends who were less qualified be admitted too. shrugs

I would say you have a 98 percent chance of getting in. Just my opinion, though. Some kids with amazing stats don't get in, and some with below avg. stats do.

Anybody have an idea why UF is so erradic with admission?? Can't one appeal it in the hopes that they come to their senses?

Yes, you can appeal, but the process is difficult and you don't find out until April. I know two people who appealed this year and were successfully admitted. I hear that it is rare to get in on appeal, though.

With your Florida GPA of 3.86 (UF's weighting) and 32 ACT (which is the equivalent of a 1420 SAT) you should be fine.
