<p>just finished my sophmore year and got my report card back. things aren't looking that great. </p>

<p>asian male in NY</p>

<p>my course load for both year is very average, a even mix of honors and lower leved course</p>

<p>my freshman and sophomore year GPA is both 3.4
i took the SAT this year just for fun</p>

<p>math 720
verbal/reading 690
writing 640
overall-2050</p>

<p>PLAN test/pre-ACT: 31
i;m hoping to improve those test scores next year. also i probably have Chinese, German, Math 1, and Physics SAT II.</p>

<p>EC's: Science Olympiad, Yearbook(freshman), JV football (freshman), Asian Awareness Club, working experince and a lot of voluteering hours this summer.</p>

<p>my course load for next year is honors and APs so there goes my chance of raising my GPA.</p>

<p>i have my goal set on Umich (a pretty far shot) but is always considering Virginia Tech (father was a professor there for many years) and MSU. open to suggestions of other tier 1 or tier 2 colleges, mainly engineering schools, trying to major in architecture or Electric Engineering.</p>

<p>what are my chances for any of these schools and what can i do next year to improve my chances?</p>

<p>Keep doing those ECs and raise your SATs by 50 points in each section. Apply early enough and you'll have a good shot at UMich. Also consider RPI, RIT, and Binghamton.</p>

<p>OMG, I couldn't breathe for a few minutes after I saw Asian Awareness Club!!!</p>

<p>Ok, UMich is very easy to get into especially with your stats. Don't stress out like every other asian out there. I'm chinese btw and I am mad stressing!</p>

<p>Keep up with those ECs and get some LD positions in 2-3 of your favorite ones. (Varsity co-captain always looks great if you're good enough =D</p>

<p>Michigan is honestly not very hard to get into. Just make sure you get A's the next two years. </p>

<p>just out of curiosity, when you say i can get into umich do you mean Umich at Ann Arbor or just any Umich university like dearborn or any other campus.</p>
