Basically, I'm wondering if my extracurriculars+essay+SAT can outweigh my low gpa.

In desire to go there:
Haverford (ED)
Claremont McKenna(EDII)
UChicago
Vassar
Boston U
UT austin
and a couple others

Given what you've told me, I'd bet you get in to all of the schools.

But forget Haverford and apply ED to Claremont McKenna.

Why thank you, but an addition. Due to being a small school(school with in a school) we rank separately from the larger one, and as such I'm not 10% and barely top 25%.

Why forget haverford?

The counselor write the school report explaining the class rank thing, but how much do you think it will hurt me?

i dont think it will hurt you at all, and even if it does, your sat scores will overcome it

thank you :)

Any other opinions?

If you like CMC or U of C more I'd say ED there. You have incredible chances...

I haven't actually visited claremont mckenna, though I like the business leadership ethos. Basically, what kept me from applying ED there(same nov 15deadline) is that I've never been to the campus, and my friend visited harvey mudd and didn't really like it that much. University of Chicago only has early action, and that was due the 1st.

Well, my ED app goes in tomorrow. Any other opinions?

I would not recommend applying ED to Haverford unless you're sure that you would go there over anywhere else.

It might be better to keep your options open if you have any doubts at all.

I would be ecstatically happy to go to claremont, uchicago, or haverford, and I know more people at haverford, and I really like the quaker background

Well, rejected at haverford. Now I have 12 essays to write in 14 days.

Bump 10char

wow, thats some nice stats. i was thinking ur aiming kinda low with those scores. no Ivys??

oh, and college admissions will love the fact that you set up that charity concert, because its unique, not like every other damn kid who volunteers at the local hospital or library for the bare minimum.....

Eh, my class rank is craptacular. Especially after this semester, which really hurt me. 7 ap classes is brutal. But yeah, I'm thinking I'm going to be ranked something like 30/71.

Given that my luck seems to blow, anyone want to rechance me on Chicago/claremont?
