Chance me!

I have two summers of research (over 700 hours total) with the National Cancer Institute at N.I.H. and a 690 CR/720 M/770 WR (12 Essay) [2180] SAT score. I'm retaking the SAT and will most likely receive 2250+. I've got excellent ECs (see above) and great class rank. I'm a white male in Maryland.

Some other important ECs of mine:
Math team (9, 10) Captain (11)
Captain and Founder of School's Science Bowl Team (11, 12)
Senior Staff Writer of School Newspaper (9, 10) Editor (11, 12)
JV Track (10, 11) Varsity Track (12)

Additionally, my sister is an MIT grad.

Do I have any chance of getting in? How much does my extensive research background help me?

What are your grades like, how about the strength of your courses?

100%

.

I'm taking really hard courses. Grades are good :)

River Phoenix, 100%? Are you being sarcastic?

VERY good chances... (not 100%)

What makes my chances so good?? This is really surprising!

chances are all right.
get that 2250 and write interesting essays, and before you know it, you'll be following your sister's foot steps. :)

p.s. this is the first post i looked at after a few days away partying with old friends in memphis. it feels great to be back on CC.

Any awards?

My only major ones (thus far):
- 1st place Junior Varsity JETS Engineering Team of the 2007 Metropolitan Area.
- National Merit Semifinalist (score of 223)

how can you retake your SAT?

i think u have an AMAZING chance
if you do get 2250+ even better
lol

i think your scores put you in the running, and your research will be a huge plus
