Chance me!

I live in a small town in Missouri and USC is my dream school.

GPA: 3.051 UW 3.55 W
SAT: 2050 R:680 M:680 W:690
ACT: 31
AP: Language 4

I've taken all honors courses, one AP course, and the only two gifted classes at our high school after I've been in the gifted program since elementary school.

My GPA is super low, mostly because of last year. 4 D's last year, almost all A's and B's sophomore and freshman year. My senior GPA should be a lot higher.

My EC's are alright. I've done tennis all 4 years and I've been in our school's forum club and German clubs. I was also in marching band and jazz band my first two years and I got varsity letters in both. I've done DECA for the last year and I've been to some leadership conferences, one in which I scored the highest on a marketing test taken by the 7000 people that attented.

My volunteering work consists of a lot of working with Cancer patients and assisting in events for Cancer survivors and research like the Relay for Life.

My recommendation is written by one of my teachers that loves me and tells me that I'm one of her favorite and most intelligent students.

I'm pretty much relying on my essay to pretty much be my driving force, talking about how I've wasted my potential and intelligence in high school getting embarrassing grades while testing well. I'm going to talk about how I feel its necessary that I do something of great importance and make some sort of major positive impact in the world.

I'm pretty confident about my short answers and the quick takes.

I've also won a lot of awards for my work in my gifted Science Investigations class, and my research was selected to be presented among the top 36 projects in our state. I'm also currently working on a project involving nanotechnology and solar energy, I was going to discuss the importance of the subject in my essay.

So what are my chances? I know I'm a longshot GPA wise, but I'm confident about the rest of my application. I might as well try.

(I wish you had more posts so we could see about your other activity here on CC. Without it, we'll just have to believe that you are being honest.)

I think you will have an excellent chance of being accepted by USC- if you apply after 1-2 years of proving yourself elsewhere. With your intelligence and if you continue with the type of activities you are involved with now, you should have an excellent resume by then (with better grades!)

But, of course, go ahead and try now. You just may catch the eye of an admissions counselor. Good luck!

yeah, I would have to concur that it would be extremely difficult for you to get into USC now. I don't mean to be blunt, just being realistic. You can always transfer.

Yeah I was afraid that was the type of response I'd get.

Oh well I'm still going to give it a shot.

It is your dream school. You should follow through with your dreams.

HOW did you get 4 Ds last year?!?!?!
