Hi, I'm a white female at a public high school in IL. I'm wondering about my chances at Northwestern, Notre Dame, and University of Michigan. I'm also interested in Ivy League schools, MIT and Stanford, but I don't know if I'm a strong enough applicant for any of them. I'm thinking of going into something math/science related, probably engineering. Let me know what you think.

Just finished junior year, graduating in 2009.
ACT: 35
SAT I:
Reading: 800
Math: 800
Writing: 730 (I've heard that some schools give writing little or no consideration - how true is that?)
I'm taking the SAT II this Saturday on US History, Math, and Chemistry.
Class Rank: 2/510 (could change to #1, depends on how second semester finals turn out)
GPA: 4.00 unweighted, 4.50-4.60 weighted (not completely sure b/c it's cumulative)

Classes:
Freshman Year:
Honors Experimental Methods (science)
Honors Geometry
Honors World History
Honors English I
Spanish II
Journalism I and II
Orchestra
P.E.

Sophomore Year:
AP European History (5)

Honors Chemistry
Honors Algebra II
Honors English II
Honors Spanish III
Honors Symphony Orchestra

Honors Spanish IV
Honors Symphony Orchestra

Senior Year:

My junior and senior schedules are probably the most rigorous possible. I've always gotten As/A+s, the only B I ever got was in Journalism freshman year and I don't think I've ever even had an A-. I haven't gotten back the results of my junior year AP tests yet.

Extra Curriculars:
Math Team - went to state freshman year. (freshman-senior year)
Cross Country - most improved junior year, will PROBABLY be a captain senior year. (sophomore year-senior year)
Track - captain as a junior. (freshman year-senior year).
NHS
Orchestra - I'm worried about the fact that I have to drop this senior year because of a scheduling conflict. (freshman-junior year)

I'm worried that I'm not doing enough in terms of ECs, but I don't know what I can do to change that as a senior.

Other things:
Math Student of the month, Physics Student of the Month and Chemistry Student of the month during junior year.

I also have a summer job as a lifeguard, I don't know if that counts for anything.

Anyway, tell me what you think!
