GPA: 94% (so im guessing thats like a 3.7?)

I will be recruited for soccer there, and I have spoken with the coach! However, just note that it is Division 3.

I will be applying Early Decision.

Well..if you're getting recruited by them, aren't you automatically in?

UVA no longer has early decision.

I'd say that if soccer is recruiting you, you're considered In-state, and with your pretty strong academic record, you've got a pretty nice shot.

UVA is a top ranked Division I soccer program, not Division III.

I'm rather confused about how misinformed the OP seems to be.

^^^I'm rather worried about how misinformed the OP seems to be.

UVa = Division 1

Uva = No Early Decision

How can you attend a foreign or american school simultaneously?

You were born in Virginia but then moved to Korea? But still pay Va taxes?

Anyways,

Excellent GPA, EC's, SAT II's, and Athletics. Your SAT I (1350/2070) is ok but I would advise that you retake the SAT I in the fall. By looking at your 800 Math 2, it's clear that with a little practice you can boost your 720 to 780-800. There is also room for improvment on CR if you're up to the challenge. If you don't do well on a retake, don't worry. As an in-state applicant/recruited athlete your chances are already very high (85-99%). Just my $0.02.

^ Nono. Actually #3 and 4 are possible. American school/foreign school/international school are pretty much synonymous in Asia, these names are interchangeable. It's entirely possible to move away and still pay VA taxes, doing this will probably make her instate.

I believe she just forgot to delete the soccer part from the post which she had also posted for Johns Hopkins. I doubt, therefore she is a soccer candidate at UVA, but if so she is in.

Otherwise, Xtine, you looks good for admission as long as you are certain about in-state status. From what you described, I assume your family are still legal residents of Virginia and you family files US tax returns. Check with UVA and make sure you are set as in-state, as it will make all the difference in the world on your admission decision.

As for me, I think you might have more fun playing DIII soccer, but that is your call.

Good point, melli. Didn't understand the distinction on #3 and I guess #4 is within reason.

^ Haha, common misunderstanding. There are way too many terms for the same type of school in Asia.. I've heard everything from what we mentioned to blahblah Bilingual School and blahblah British School and blahblah whatever School.

I thought you needed to be domiciiled in VA to be considered in state. Do you own a residence or rent an apartment here? Paying taxes and having a domicile are not necessarily the same.

You should have seen Shanghai in the 1930s (before the Japanese Occupation) ;).
