AND DOES UPENN OR COLUMBIA or JOHN HOPKINS HAVE EARLY ACTION (non-binding) PROGRAMS?

Neither Penn, nor Columbia, nor JHU has an Early Action--they all have Early Decision [binding]!!

I'm not sure, I guess you stand a chance at all 3 schools, but you have nothing that make you stand out from everyone else [NO OFFENSE].

I also applied to those 3 school, and I was accepted to all 3 [i will be attending JHU in the fall], but I had significant amount of research at a college over the summer.

I would've thought competitive students would have something similar, or something that at least shows passion--you know....something other than the bland "hospital work", or NHS.

But you DO have some stuff, some of the EC are cool...GOOD LUCK!!

You're def. a competitive candidate, and you may make it. Maybe I'll see you at JHU.

For any of the universities you mentioned, you need to increase your verbal score. I'd say at least make it past 600. Other than that, you stand a chance for all. But who knows; maybe they desperately need someone who can run! (not kidding; someone I know got in with a really low SAT score just b/c he's captain of track team).

There is no way to guarantee acceptance, Hopkins admits a wide variety of students. There is no "generally accpeted benchmark." Admittance to Hopkins is not solely based on the numbers which although they impact an application, are not the sole reason for acceptance/denial. Because of the way that Hopkins reviews applications, they incorporate all factors of the application. The academic numbers are just numbers that sometimes do not accurately portray a students academic potential at the collegiate level.

However, here are the numbers of the Class of 2011:
Class Profile:
Applicants: 14,848
Admitted: 3,586
Enrolled (projected): 1,216
Admit rate: 24%
Early Decision available? Yes
Early Decision applicants: 997

Middle 50% for admitted students:
SAT Total: 1990-2280
SAT Verbal: 650-750
SAT Math: 690-790
SAT Writing: 650-740
ACT: 30-34

And for the times you posted for you mile and 3.2, are you a guy or a girl? If you are a girl...you should contact the track coach and they may be able to get you in if you decide to run track. If you're a guy, I don't think that the coach would be able to help...sorry.

Good Luck taking your SATs again in the fall!! Keep in mind that if you better on the verbal but worse on the math and writing the next time you take it, the admissions office takes the highest score you received on each section and adds those together for the SAT score that they consider.
