Hi fellow CCers! i was wondering if i have a chance to get into fordham with
GPA:87-88 avg
ECs: baseball varsity team, library service, chemistry tutoring and photgraphy club
Volunteer service: none but worked for 4 yrs(supermarket)
Act: 26-27
(senior in fall 2008)

can my chances be higher if i apply for early admission? I really want to get in..

I think you will be fine. Yes, apply early admission. Good luck.

btw how is fordhams financial aid? due to my family income being below 50k, I cant really afford paying 48k a yr lol..

Well...that depends on perspective. They may well give you a sizeable grant, but also you will be offered student loans....to invest in your future. NO SCHOOL gives free rides just because of a desire to attend a school. Scholarships are merit based and usually that requires a 1400 or higher SAT.

You just apply and then submit the FAFSA early and see what the award letter says and compare the offer to other schools. You have decent stats, but not stellar ones. You need to apply to 10-12 schools (reach, match, safety) and see what the offers are and go from there.

In general terms, aid is like scholarship money and if you are a bigger fish in a smaller pond they may increase the aid...but that is not a hard and fast rule. Some schools are very strict about not considering your scores (desirability) when considering aid, and others consider the entire package....

But being lower income family, that should definitely help you. Dont forget, if you do well at Fordham, then your job will be high paying in Manhattan and so your "investment" pays off quickly.

Its daunting for everyone. Spread your risk around and good luck.

sounds like a plan to me. Good luck on Fordham.
