First of all, thank you for listing the school at Cornell that you’re going to apply to. Unfortunately, you’re not a definite in or a definite out, so we can’t really help you. Your test scores are decent, your GPA is decent, your ECs are strong - but not strong enough to make you a shoo-in. You’re not an outstanding instant admit, but you’ve definetely got a good chance; no one can tell you for sure whether it’ll be a yes or no. Like I said, your stats are good and if I was forced to choose, I’d say you’ll get in - but this is going to be the fiercest admissions cycle in history; we just don’t know what’s going to cut it anymore.

Just keep doing what you’re doing. You have better odds than many people, and there’s really nothing you can do to make yourself an instant admit. I think you’ll get in.

^ Like the poster above me said, thank you for indicatin which school you are applying to. Seeing that you understand how important that is helps your chances in my mind, haha. Coming from Newton is a great thing. My gf’s sister teaches special ed there, and the schools are very strong (they should be, they have harvard and brandeis right next door!) I have a very good feeling about you. I know you are asian and many ppl say thats an auto-reject, but i think thats bologna. You seem like an all-around great individual, and I would be surprised if you didn’t get in. not sure if this year will be more difficult than last year :P

haha, best of luck to you!

youre in .

Thanks for your replies everyone :).
I’m completely aware that the 2009 class is going to be super challenging. I’m chugging along on my applications at the moment, but I’m stuck on my essays ><. I’ve written a few different ones, but honestly its hard not to sound cliche :(

But thanks again for taking the time to help me out :)
