Also applying to(if you wanna know): Tufts, brandeis, northeastern, uconn, uvm, umass amherst

Thanks!

Hey there =)

I don't usually do chances, but since I'm from the same state, I feel somewhat obliged to =P

I think Tufts is a pretty high reach because you're kind of outside the SAT range, and even though you have good grades and a pretty good class rank, most people applying also have good grades and pretty good class rank as well.

As for Brandeis, they took away the SAT II requirements this year, and I think that Brandeis would probably be a match for you. I'm not sure, but isn't Psych one of Brandeis's more competitive majors to strive for? Not exactly sure.

And for the rest should be safeties for you, though Northeastern can be a little random sometimes. Sometimes, they seem to reject/defer students with higher stats because they know they can probably get into a better school, and don't want to waste a spot for someone that will probably just withdraw their application. Though, that's just speculation, and I could be totally wrong =P

Oh and I totally forgot about BU, hah, the reason why you posted here. I think you should be pretty good for BU as well.

jchen09,

You are right about Northeastern. With the class of 2012, they waitlisted students with higher stats than students they accepted. Not that the accepted students didn't have decent stats, but I can say from 1st hand experience that this went on at Northeastern. And they were not the only ones who handled the massive application load of last year in this way.

If you are interested in Brandeis, make sure you visit the campus and it's a good fit. Brandeis has excellent academics, a great faculty, but it's not for everyone.
