<p>Hey everyone, just wondering what people thought of my chances are at NYU Stern ED</p>

<p>Act: 34</p>

<p>Subject Tests: Spanish 760 Chemistry 710</p>

<p>GPA: Approx a 3.9-4.0 weighted, not sure unweighted, top 15% of class</p>

<p>Senior course load.... AP Calculus AB, AP Physics C, AP Economics, AP Psychology, AP English Literature, and Honors Spanish (AP not available)</p>

<p>First generation college student</p>

<p>EC's...</p>

<p>National Honor Society (Treasurer)
Spanish Club (Co-President)
French Club (Treasurer)
Yearbook (Business Team & Co-Editor of a section)
Math Team (Co-Captain)
Darfur/Global Awareness Group (Charter Member)

<p>Athletics:</p>

<p>Varsity Spring Track & Field (Co-Captain)
Alpine Ski Racing (Ranked top 35th percentile nationally)</p>

<p>Mon-Thurs Construction 10hrs a day/40 hrs a week during summer</p>

<p>Awards:</p>

<p>Scholastic award for excellence in Spanish all three years
3rd place in regional art competition [piece is permanently displayed in museum]</p>

<p>Languages:</p>

<p>In addition to good spanish proficiency I have been studying Japanese for 7-8 years and also self-taught myself Italian</p>

<p>Recommendations: all very good I feel...did not read them but I know the teachers I asked def. write passionately</p>

<p>Essay: Been told by an old admissions person @ Yale that its one of the best he's ever read....</p>

<p>I’m assuming I’m not getting in because I am working on all my regular decision apps and supplements, oh December 15 I cannot wait for you to come and just let me know already! </p>

<p>I am just worried because I have read that Stern has a 20-15% acceptance rate which is pretty low…</p>

<p>i say your chances are 90%. Write a good essay. Perhaps you should consider a more prestigious university. ESP with that ACT SCORE</p>

<p>I knew a kid with lower stats who got into Stern. You have very impressive standarized test scores and a difficult course load. Your ECs are also exceptional, and since you’re applying ED, I’d say you’re all but certain to be accepted. In fact, I’d wonder why you didn’t shoot higher.</p>

<p>I am applying to the BPE program which is new for fall 2009, so I have no idea what the applicant pool is going to be, its a combination of everything I love to do so I figured that I should apply ED because they are limiting it to 50 students</p>

<p>Great chances of getting in; I would not know what to say if they rejected you. You should consider Wharton at UPenn. I think you would definitely have a chance there as well.</p>

<p>You have a good chance of getting in at NYU stern, however its a very difficult school to get into…Good Luck!</p>

<p>Your credentials are fine for NYU, however Stern is very picky and is never a safe bet. However, I would say its probally 90 percent.</p>

<p>Never a sure thing at Stern but you are as close as you will find to it. Very impressive all the way around. In short, IN. I definitely would be shocked to see you turned down. And don’t listen to people telling you to aim “higher”, Stern is very prestigous and if you are applying ED its obviously where you wanna be, which is most important. So have fun next year in NYC!</p>

<p>I’d say it’s close to 100 percent you’ll get in. You have great grades, ACTs and EC’s, and the first generation college student helps also. I’m surprised that you didn’t apply to an Ivy League school or Stanford or something like that. The only way you wouldn’t get into NYU is if you assault the guy interviewing you.
