<p>I'm currently a junior in IB at a chartered school in TX. I was wondering what my chances are of getting in to Duke and what i need to do in order to get in/ stand out. </p>

<p>I’m doing the full IB Program and AP classes as well</p>

<p>I will be graduating with 34 ½ credits…</p>

<p>Current GPA: 3.8 UW</p>

<p>Current Classes:
AP Calculus AB( SL Math)
AP French (SL French)
Physics Honors
AP Biology (HL Biology)
AP English(HL English)
AP Psychology(SL Psychology)
AP US History(HL History of the Americas)
Theory of Knowledge(IB Course)</p>

<p>Took AP Euro last year got a 3 on the AP Exam but a 76 in the class but this year I have all A's and high B's in my classes... I'm going to be in the IB classes that are in parentheses next year along with AP Calc BC.</p>

<p>For IB I'm also having to do 150 volunteer hours, write a 4000 Extended Essay, and take a special Theory of Knowledge class.</p>

<p>I got a 198 on my 2008 PSAT and plan to take both the ACT and SAT.</p>

International Dance Team Captain
Student Council
Honor Court
French Club
Model UN
Student Ambassador</p>

<p>I've always taken Honors classes and always had A's and B's except for tht one C in AP Euro... I've had a job at a biochem lab over the summer of '08 and I did a service project summer of '07...i took Govt' and Econ at a community college summer of '08 also...</p>

<p>Please let me know what chances I've got of getting in and what I need to do...</p>

<p>You are doing a good job, but nobody can tell you anything, especially when you do not have any SAT or ACT scores. PSAT is not a good measurement for your future ACT or SAT score IMO.</p>

<p>If you apply to Rice, I hope for your sake you will remember to change "Duke" to "Rice."</p>

<p>Jeez, that was pretty rude. Didn't even have a second's time to change the name... do you even know why you're applying to Rice (note how I didn't say Duke)?</p>

<p>actually its my friend who did this on my account last nite without telling me...i wudve nvr made a rude mistake like this b/c im actually genuinely interested in rice...i just found out abt this 5 mins ago...so sry from me but i didnt do this stupidity...</p>
