it is a HUGE HUGE HUGE reach. as it is for most people, but because of the GPA and the tests scores. but make the essays really good and I dont know.

haha thanks lol
i'm also a coca cola semifinalist as well as a ron brown applicant
...forgot to add those

i got a 2010 640 C 700 M 670 W
should i even resend?

I think that you should send in your new SAT score. Having that 2 in front is just psychologically more appealing. I think that you've taken advantage of a lot of opportunities where you live and I think that you might stand a shot. Your GPA is quite low, which is unfortunate - so while you may not get into Harvard, you may definitely get into some other ivy.

Did you take your three SATIIs yet?!

Also: I'm a Ron Brown applicant this year as well! So maybe I'll meet you one of these days.

alrighty thanks...are you national achievement btw too>?

I was actually lucky enough to qualify for National Merit (but yes, I got national Achievement as well!).

Here are the rest of my stats if you're curious.

wow thats amazing bud...and btw the guy with a 1350 sat on that thread gives me hope :)
but who knows....
and i hope we do meet up!

ohhh... the 1350 person was a troll :(

haha whats a troll???

and congrats btw on yale!

I think you could still have a solid chance at getting in. I always remind myself that there are people with low scores who get in all the time because they have other unique traits or hooks that will bring diversity to the campus. Maybe your essay is a tearjerker... There is probably another aspect of your application that may stick out. Ideally, you are only competing against the person who is just like you. (A piece of advice a Yale admissions officer gave me.) I think the reason why so many applicants get rejected is because a more qualified or more unique applicant similar to them got in. They can only admit so few and all you have to worry about is your relative comparison to the applicant pool. Although a higher SAT score would undoubtedly put you in safer territory when compared to others, a lower SAT score or GPA may not automatically signal a rejection.
My SAT I score is much lower than yours, and Harvard will see it. Even though my ACT is okay, I am not worried about their seeing a low score. If they reject me solely because of a low standardized test score, then they didn't really care about what I could potentially bring to the Harvard community. That is their premise on admission, and I would hold them to it. You have done what you can. Just pray about it and have faith that what is best for you will happen...

I am also a Ron Brown applicant! They seem to really favor students at Ivy League schools. They brag about those statistics in every information pamphlet that I've seen.

Anyways, all the best.

bumpppppppppppppppppppp

Wow, a lot of Ron Brown applicants. I am one aswell. :]
