Chance me?

I'm currently a freshman at a private university in Miami and plan to transfer (fall 2010) after earning my A.A.

My stats:
College:
GPA: 3.9-I see a PTK induction in my future :)

HS:
GPA: 3.0

I was homeschooled, so my GPA doesn't reflect my research or actual curriculum. My self-designed curriculum was much more difficult than my transcripts lead on.

SAT: 2210-ish

ECs include holding a stable part-time job, creating a model for my own non-profit organization to launch in 2009 and problogging. I tend to keep my artistic pursuits out of this list because I plan on going into Political Science.

-Georgetown
-Boston U
-Cornell
-Ithaca College
-Florida State (insert war chant here)
-Columbia
-NYU
-U of Miami ('Cane <33)
-Barry University (how is it? Everything I hear is pretty mixed)
-Florida International University
-University of San Diego, though I've never actually considered the left coast before.

If anyone has transferred to any of these schools please drop me a line. I'd like to hear (read) about your experience.

for some of the more competitive schools on your list (columbia, gtown, cornell), just one semester of good grades probably wont cut it...you'd be a much stronger applicant if you waited to apply for junior year transfer...for some of the easier schools on your list (ithaca, u miami, fia, etc) you should have a shot for junior admissions

edit: i realized that you intend to apply for fall '10...in which case, this may be a thread that would be more salient around this time next year...you can't really extrapolate one semesters worth of good grades to three semesters worth...worry about maintaining that strong gpa of yours before you look too far ahead

best of luck
