any chances of getting accepted to cornell??

You lived in Cuba until age 13? OMG, talk about some essay topics. So, let’s recap. URM? Check. Awesome hook/essay topic? Check. An ACT score that would give even an unhooked white kid a decent shot? Check. Strong ECs w/ leadership? Check. Strong academic record? Check. The only thing I have to say after reading this thread is, “Why not HYP?”

hahahha actually i nlived there until age 12… Im only 16 =) but im still a junior…

and thank you so much, this makes me happy =) and i dot think I’m HYP material. i want as more relaxed atmosphere and i think cornell is the place for me to be …

thank you for chancing me =)

yeah i’d say you have a great chance, for all the reasons malan listed

oh and i wouldn’t say cornell is more relaxed than HYP. cornell is reputed to be the “easiest ivy to get into, hardest ivy to get out of”, while harvard is the opposite

I dont mind the workload tho. I just meant the people and the way they act. I dont want to be surrounded by people who will never be my true friends ju7st because they think of me as their competition. theres always going to be some of that at Cornell, but trust me, i know many people who’ve gone to HYP and if tehy feel like theyre not #1 they will kill you lol

oh well thats good then.
