College
gpa: 3.57
I had 4 W and averaged a 3.3 my first year. I was hospitalized with an illness and afterwards I got the 4 Ws. I hope Penn sees this as an improvement. My second year I got a 4.0. I came back and made a huge change in my life, and got immersed in activity.
Extracurriculars: started a political club at my community college,
volunteered in India for two monthes working in an orphanage where I took on a leadership role,
interned at a film studio (this is my career parth, I want to be a film producer)
member of art club, muslim student association, and some others.
worked 12 hours a week.
volunteered with Red cross.
learning piano

I love Penn, and really want to go. I know that they are famous for their international students and volunteer work, so I'm hoping that my volunteering in India will really push my application up, since my gpa is soo bad. I have excellent recs also, I hope that'll help.

Also, I'm an art and economics major, but I don't have a portfolio or anything.

:/
aim lower…

but who knows…UPenn is kinda random.

I guess I’d ask this - if you want to be a film producer, why Penn? Why not NYU, USC, UCLA, Tulane, Florida State?

These schools have better film programs and would be easier to get into.

I think Penn is a reach, although you’ve got a good backstory that may help.
