Hi, just would like for someone to chance my admission to IU. I'm going for either Business or International Studies (opinions on which major to choose are welcome, too! =])

Rising senior, public school of about 2000, Indiana resident.

GPA: 3.7 uw
SAT: Math:630, CR:670, Writing:700 (1300/2000)
Honors: Biology, Chemistry, Physics, English 9th and 10th grade.
AP: Junior- Psychology (4), Language and Comp. (didn't take the exam)
Senior- Calculus, Literature and Comp., Government, Spanish
Rank: 33/450

Studied abroad in Spain for two months.
Volunteer at local hospital as interpreter.
A bunch of other school clubs and community service projects.

Thanks a bunch! :)

You qualify for a 5k/year scholarship

Go business, and then you could major in international business and gain actual skills (but i’m bias)

It’s interesting you say that. Could you elaborate a little bit more on why you think the International Studies major doesn’t give you skills? I’m really curious because I don’t want to pick a useless major.

You’re in. 100%. Direct admit to Kelley if you can keep the 3.7 GPA (shouldn’t be a problem if your weighted GPA appears on your transcript).

My school doesn’t do weighted GPA’s =/.

Kelley degree you give you more specific knowledge such as accounting, computer skills, presentations ability verses general history/culture knowledge. With international business you get those things as well as the ability to use excel, knowledge of financial statements, etc. Sorry, I should have rephrased that. You seem to gain more knowledge and work-skills in a business degree. So, international business will allow you to combine those with liberal arts.
