Chance me?

I have a 3.84 GPA SUSF, I hope on having a 4.0 by the end of the first quarter.
Currently I have an SAT score of 1740. M-700, R-530-W-510 (lets just say I had a bad day). Retaking- had a score of about 70 on the psat, 61 in writing
Have 8 AP courses on my belt, all honors except foreign language and electives.
2000 community, NHS, Vetenary program, DFYit.
Top 10% thinking Top 5% but school only does 10.

I’d just say the obvious really, the test scores. But with some more tutoring you can get the reading and writing up probably. It’s an interesting gap between your math and english. I’m opposite, I have high scores in reading and writing but a real bad score in math.

Good luck on SATs!

Im not worried about the sat because i had a psat score of 70 something in reading and 61 in writing. I had a bad day, and i forgot my reading glasses, so by the time that i got to the reading sections i had a head ache of squinting so much. Im gonna tattoo to my forehead “GLASSES” so i dont forget. :).
Bump

Bump!!!

The GPA and SAT are a little low, but the class rank and EC’s easily make up for it.

I would say if you got your SAT’s 2000+ you would be a lock.

^ I agree.

2000 community? Does this mean 2000 community service hours?

If so, you’re a shoe-in.

I know a girl who had a 980 combined SAT (on 1600 scale) and a 28 ACT and a 3.1 GPA, but had 650 community service hours and got in.

Im preety sure I can get my gpa to a 4.0, all I need is 4 A’s and 1 B. Yes I have a 2000 hours of community service, I thought Colleges didn’t care because there’s a lot of people with impresive community service, for example moving to Africa and helping people etc. Any other colleges you guys think I could get into, like out of state. (NYU? :))

^
Are you a Junior or a Senior this year?

Because UF doesn’t consider senior year grades in calculating your UF GPA.

They will see what classes you take, as in taking many AP classes senior year is advantageous.

However, they will not even ask to see your first semester senior grades nor will it help (or hurt) your GPA.

Intangible you are lying right? i thought they used the first semester ones. Are you sure? cuz if not then im going to start freaking out. In the SUSF gpa calculator they use the first semester.

Intangible Gator is correct as far as I know. Your 9-11 grades are what will be seen accompanied by your senior schedule.

are you sure? because this link says they do, http://cyberguidance.net/college/recalgpa.pdf

OMG!!! they dont!!! I think i just had a heart attack. If you excuse me im gonna cry in my bathroom :frowning: :frowning: :frowning: :(

does it help that next year i have 4 ap’s and one honors class.

ya aps are important.

Definitely, man. UF wants to know that you’ll be challenging yourself your senior year.

For any college, it looks good to have a challenging schedule senior year. Most seniors pick the easiest classes and leave school by noon. But some take a couple APs and stay past lunch.
