<p>If you literally have NO ECs it’s going to be really, really difficult. You’re going to have to write absolutely stellar essays to even have a fighting chance.</p>
<p>It will be hard, but once you get in you’ll have another opportunity to add ECs and good grades to look good for an internal transfer. Some transfers would be very competitive, others would be manageable, but work on getting in first.</p>

<p>Well the fact is that if you have NO ECs, you are guaranteed to be in the bottom half of the personal achievement score. Your essays could get you to nearly half, but not even top half.</p>
<p>I don’t know exactly which squares of the admissions grid UT admits, but I’m reasonably certain that they don’t take kids from the very bottom of the PAI grid even with perfect SAT scores and grades.</p>
