chance me?

<p>Hey guys, I just wanted to know how well you think i would get in with these stats , but a really bad essay. I've always had problems writing personal essays, so I know for a fact my essay is going to be bad. Do you think this might make up for that? </p>

<p>GPA - Unweighted: 3.80
GPA - Weighted: either 4.50 or 4.3, it says on my transcript 4.5, but i think my school weights weird
Class Rank: 3
Class Size: 430</p>

<p>Scores:</p>

<p>SAT I Math: 600
SAT I Critical Reading: 720
SAT I Writing: 700
ACT: 32
AP English Lang: 4
AP U.S. History: 4
AP World History: 5</p>

<p>I will have taken 10 AP classes by the time i graduate. I got a 2 on both Computer Science and Statistics.</p>

<p>Extracurriculars: Marching Band all four years, programming team member(10th-12th), Envirothon team member(12th), Environmental club member(11-12), National Honor Society(11-12), Mu Alpha Theta(10-12), Interact Club(11-12), SECME(10), Future Business Leaders of America(12)</p>

<p>Leadership positions: Librarian of band, President of Interact, Treasurer of Environmental club, secretary of Chess club, Vice president of SECME</p>

<p>Volunteer/Service Work: Palm beach County health department, Palm Beach County Library, Environmental club and Interact club volunteer work, volunteer work with the marching band, National Honor Society volunteer work (I did all that, but i only officially have 91 hours :( I'm trying to wring out some more from band before i send my transcript)</p>

<p>Honors and Awards: Rensselaer Medal Award for Math and Science, Best Computer Programming Student 10th and 11th grade, Most outstanding English student 9th grade, most improved musician 10th grade</p>

<p>wow, your SAT/ACT scores are super…looks like you might just fit into UF’s little mold :slight_smile:
I guess we all have to wait until Feb 12/13 to find out…</p>

i am hoping to get in with sat 1270
gpa weighted 3.75
out of state student-</p>

<p>My daughter applied back at the end of July I believe, maybe very beginning of August.
hoping she’ll be one that shows as the very well rounded type (with the lower SAT/ACT)</p>

<p>HER:
3.8 GPA (unweighted) 4.02 weighted, 1140 old way / 1720 (new way - adding all three- YES, I KNOW, NOT VERY HIGH)
ACT -25 (i know, not the highest either) but I think she has GREAT career related extracurriculars / volunteering - she eventually wants to be a vet so she has mega hours with an equine vet, small animal vet and many many hours with a small private barn…and…IMHO, a pretty good essay (she hopes).

National Honor Society, top 11% of her class, National Spanish Honor Society.</p>
