hey I am a highschool senior, and I just turned in my application to UF and I have no idea how I am going to be able to wait untill February 12 to find out if I made it or not.
So chance me? is that what its called????

GPA:3.7 weighted about a 3:4 unweighted I think
SAT: 1530 (all three sections)

All kinda of extracariculars,
flag-football- 2 years
softball-2 years
have a part time job-4 years
National Honor Society-2 years
Student Government-1 year
Year book staff-1 year
Tutor-2 years

Have over 200 total comunity service hours, some with the YMCA.

And even though i am a senior in high school , I am in this special program where I will complete two entire years of college during my last two years of highschool,
meaning i will graduate highschool with 63 transferable college credit hours...

What are my chances of getting in, does all that college work make a big diffrence???????

Your college credits may actually hurt you. If you are considered a “special” type of transfer you will be put into a special group that they don’t have many spaces for. This happened to my son two years ago. He had a 1380 (CR+M) 2010 total, 4.7 unweighted GPA, state level computing awards, is an Eagle Scout, a ton of volunteering, President of FBLA, honors clubs, etc, but he had 26 hours of college credit. I was really teed about it as both my husband and I are alumni, but that is how the ball bounced. I would call the school because you might want to make sure you have your AA degree and with your credits you probably do. For whatever reason your AA might make a difference and label you as a true transfer. Now if our son had his AA degree it might have helped him, but who knows.

My son is a freshman at UF. He came in with 32 college credit hours. Many of his freshman friends at UF have somewhere between 20 and 30 hrs. With the many AP and dual credit classes offered in high school most of the top students applying to UF will have quite a few hours coming in. I think (I could be mistaken) that I read on this forum last year that if you are a high school senior who will have their AA degree they still consider you a regular “first time in college” applicant. Give the admissions office a call and ask. They are usually very helpful and have heard almost every question an applicant will have.

This looks like an appropriate place to pose my question.
When the current school year is over I will have graduated high school and will also have 57 credits from Miami Dade College.
Assuming admissions transfers over at least some credits, does transferring over a course affect my overall UF GPA? If I get a B in a transferable course, will it be factored in as a B in my UF GPA, or do they waive the credits as simply being completed?

UF only counts courses completed at UF in your GPA. One of my sons friends was accepted at UF last year and actually chose to go to another school because they would factor in the grades from the college credit classes he took in high school. I don’t think too many colleges do use those grades to figure a freshman GPA.

I don’t think having X college credits will help you out much besides saving you some money if you were to be admitted. I would not hold my breath on admission.
