BUMP okay i chanced like 20 people and i get no response back?

You’re SAT scores are pretty good for the schools you listed. But you’re GPA is very weak, which you pointed out. Just apply and hope for the best. Use your essays to highlight some of your most important ECs because it seems like you’re involved in some very interesting things. Looks good that you have leadership positions in these things too.

your SAT I scores are good, but your subject could use a little work since the chinese subject test has been inflated greatly (more than a third of the people taking it get 800)

so definitely get the chem up, your grades and GPA aren’t particularly good, but do you have any extenuating circumstances that you can use to explain why it was so low? if you don’t, you could try to shore up, take responsibility, and write an essay about how you’ve changed–just a possibility.

Also, normally I’d say that you’d have a decent chance at most, if not all of the school’s you’re applying to. But because you’re an international, i don’t know how that’s going to work out for you because you’re competing with an entirely different pool.

Your GPA sucks so your not getting into any of the business schools or any of the schools on that list for that matter.

Your GPA makes you a reach anywhere. Just apply and hope for the best.

I don’t know what the specialized recs are for the the various scores.

I think that your chance at NYU is definitely higher since you applied ED, but I would say that Cornell, Emory, CMU, and WashU are reaches unless you can bump up your gpa quite a bit.

Also, since you are applying as an international student, I believe it matters what your financial situation is.

I think that GPA is the main thing that’s gonna make you hard for most of the schools you listed… if you had a higher GPA I would say you have a good shot for all the schools…

your stats are good except for the GPA as you mentioned.
I say just explain why you had such a poor grade…I hope that you have a good reason
for it though; otherwise, all those schools will be a reach to you.

Your gpa is gana kill ya, but you may be able to pull it off with some good essays that explain why.

thank you all (:

BUMP !!

Okay this is how it goes:
SAT scores: “Awesome” they higher one’s expectations (which is a good and a bad thing, i’ll explain why)
GPA: After the “awesome” SAT scores one would expect a leveling GPA, which isn’t a good thing in this case… Having said that, your GPA is decent so it will not hurt you much
Non-Diploma student: Doing IB is the best thing you could do to help you enter high-standard Universities like HKUST, however, to be completely honest, not doing Diploma is the only thing on your CV that might hurt your chances of getting in…
Ex-curricular: very good on the educational and experience genres but sports etc are a bit less, but that really depends on the Uni, like what they want from you…
I reckon admission for KAIST might be comparatively easier now that you are out of Korea! and KAIST, from what my Korean friends tell me, is amazing!
Let me know if you have any further queries ///
