I'm looking to go to USC for Fall 2010
I have a weighted GPA of 3.72. My SAT scores are M (700) CR (650) W (690)
I have taken about 2 AP classes each year and got a 4 on US History and Government and Politics.
I have one job where I work about 16 hours a week and another where I work 6 hours a week at my father's shop.
I've done about 80-90 Community service hours.
Tell me what you think my chances are.

i think you have a pretty good chance according to your gpa and SAT scores. EC’s are a little weak. unless you have more you’re not mentioning.

here is the Fall 2009 freshman profile so you can see for yourself how you stack up. Note that the GPA figure USC uses is the UNweighted GPA.

Having a steady job counts as a serious EC. The OP has two jobs for 22 hours a week. That’s a lot for a full time student, unusual for a teenager, and says a lot about his work ethic and ability to manage time in order to maintain his GPA. When we’ve attended college fairs, admissions folks from a wide variety of schools have spoken with admiration about students who work. The work may very well prove to be a plus, as opposed to the lack of traditional EC’s proving a minus.
