Chance me!

While your list of extracurriculars appears to be very impressive at first glance, I’d highly suggest narrowing it down to ONLY the things you’re committed to (such as Student Council and figure skating). I see yearbook and tennis listed as EC’s; however, you’ve only participated in them for 1 year each. Same goes for a couple other things I can’t remember. Also, you don’t need to mention ALL the conventions and such you’ve participated in - though they’re nice, it would be much easier if you just listed your EC’s and your leadership positions in them.

If I included every single thing I’d done throughout high school on my resume, it would look somewhat scattered - I was in Math Club in 9th grade but then dropped out since I didn’t find it interesting, flirted with volleyball this year, and participated in various community service events which really weren’t worth mentioning. To make things more succinct, it would be to your advantage to trim down that list and find out what’s truly important to you and what’s not. After all, that’s exactly what adcoms want to see! ;)

Thanks fledgling! i already applied and did exactly what you said. i only used the activities that i held leadership in and only mentioned leadership positions not every little thing i did. I just found out i earned 3 different awards/ scholarships (mentioned in post above yours) should i send a letter to my colleges letting them know?

Yes; by all means. :D

Have you considered University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign?

If not, you can get in any school that is roughly as good as Michigan/Virginia.
