Well I wouldn't be asking if I had read some stuff that made me doubt my application. I applied late (like around dec.20) so I'm worried that will put me at a disadvantage...
My stats: 3.91 gpa UW
30 ACT
French club and medical club
varsity tennis for 3 years. State champ
traveled to austria to participate in world sports festival.
120 service hours coaching tennis and volunteering at boys and girls club
this year I am taking 7AP classes and have a 3.84 GPA (stupid calc BC :) ). My class rank: in top 12%.

I'm probably just being paranoid but I'd appreciate any help :)

It’s really up in the air. I’ve had friends with higher stats get rejected in-state due to applying so late. It’s a crapshoot. Best of luck to you, though!

This is really a toss-up. Your credentials would’ve nearly guarnteed you admission under the EA deadline. However I still think your chances are pretty high given your extracurricular activities and your decision to mantain a rigorous senior year schedule. Best of luck.

Are you in-state? I know an OOS guy with a 34 ACT who got WLed last year because he applied so late. You should have applied 2-3 months earlier if U of M is a top choice.

If your instate I think you have a decent chance but a good of a chance if you would have applied by nov. 1st, as the school strongly reccommend one to apply as soon as possible if not early.

^ Yeah, IMO it’s a reach and it’ll be hard for you to get accepted unless you have some sort of hook that you left out. Your stats aren’t anything special for OOS, and you applied really late which lowers your chances.

bd16425…My son got accepted from Nebraska (Omaha) but he applied before Oct. 15th and had 33 ACT and 4.0 uw and 4.3 w with 10 AP’s including this year. Which HS are u from? He found out on Nov. 5th. You might still have a chance they do like OOS big buck possibility.

There was another kid from Westside that also got accepted. His screen name was skywalker 23 I think. My s is from Millard North. PM us if you decide to go there.

I got in with a 3.91 and a 28 ACT (granted I had a 35 on math and was applying for CoE) and weaker ECs. I’m OOS, but from Kentucky (some said this was even a good thing, as far as OOS goes, since they don’t have a lot of interest from Kentucky).

I applied early decision and was accepted, not deferred, so I don’t think your chances are too far off, but I can’t say I was 100% expecting to be accepted myself, so I think luck was on my side as well.

Granted I would have been able to send them my 33 ACT if they did defer me and my 7th semester grades are all A’s (100 in BC Calc lol =D), so I think I’d be pretty set at this point anyways lol.

All I can say is, let me be hope for you, and good luck with your decision!

80% of our grade is tests, and I test well in math haha… We take all of our tests with actual AP questions from past tests and so the teacher weights them a bit (makes them out of 108 and the grade is out of 100), so I always pretty much get over 100, and the teacher never takes up homework, which I never do XD. He always gets on me about not taking notes and/or not doing anything. Math is just an easy subject for me lol.

Not to mention he makes every test a competition, no real reward, he just shows the people with the highest grades as the winners, and I like winning :D

hey nick, it’s alex z. and yes i did get in. i don’t know what the chances are like when you apply late, but i’m pretty sure you’ll get in. good luck.

I feel like I have to brag here :>. 760 on the math section of the SAT and a 100% in Physics C AP and I’m a liberal arts major. Ha, beat that :P…(Sadly, I got a C in AP Calc AB so I guess you beat me already lol)
