chance me

i have a 3.77 W GPA, am in the 2nd quartile, 2060 SAT, 30 ACT, and am in many ECs. what are my chances?

note: i realize i haven't given much info. and am not very specific enough, but still chance me. thanks!

wow!! how are you in 2nd quarter but got a 2060?
anyways that’s an amazing SAT score so you’ll probably highly considered. they’ll look at your grades (i hope they’re good!) and essays (take the chance to explain your second quarter situation in you essay). however, i’ll be kinda surprised if you didn’t get in for some reason. i don’t know this is just my thought…

Since rank is king at UT, it might be tough being in the second 1/4, but next year (2011) they start the new 75% rank, 25% holistic review, so maybe your high test scores will bump you up. Be sure to apply to a less competitive major, that would help.

lol, i just didn’t study for any of my classes, so that’s why i have a pretty bad GPA. but does UT look at the strength of the courses you took (i took all AP every year), and how good your school is? thanks!

for my app., i listed biology as my major. is that a really competitive major?

thanks for all of your replies!

yeah they probably will considering that SAT score of yours

Biology is in the College of Natural Sciences so it isn’t a restricted major like business, engineering, architecture or communications.

I think you automatically get bumped to their new “undeclared” (can’t remember what it’s called) though if you don’t get your first choice.
