Other Factors, hook?: I was forcefully transferred into a newly made high school. They may have been a little lenient because of the problems I faced (lack of classes, teachers, etc). I also heavily participated in extracurricular activities.

Ahhh so scared for decisions...

Scores are a bit low, even for just UCSD undeclared major status. Ethnicity won’t really help you in the engineering field when you’ve got thousands of Chinese students applying from the Bay with 2100+ SAT scores for those spots.

Are you an ELC student? What were your AP scores? Kinda curious as to why you didn’t take Calc AB your junior year and Calc BC your senior year if you’re really serious about engineering. Perhaps there’s other factors you didn’t mention you could add?

Good luck :)

Unfortunately didn’t make ELC. I think its because I missed out on a class that I saved for Senior Year? I’m not 100% sure why I didn’t make it…

My AP scores were low. I got a 2 on AP Literature, 3 on AP US, and 3 on AP Chemistry.

Also I wanted to take AP Calc AB in junior and then BC in senior but I didn’t try skipping classes during my high school years. I kind of regret not skipping Algebra 2 or Geometry because those classes were very easy for me. Honors Trigonometry was very difficult for me and now Calculus AB is pretty simple. I’m also bad at self learning and taking a college class over the summer seems very rushed for me and I probably wouldn’t have a proper foundation on the material. (Furthermore, my math teacher who is really good has a very strict policy against skipping. It isn’t because he doesn’t discourage it but he just wants a guarantee the person has what it takes to skip).

I’m not sure what other factors there are. The main factor was that I moved to a completely new high school. After my freshman year, I had to transfer into it due to district policy and they had very few classes. Also the school only had sophomores and freshman when it first opened up. I am part of the first graduating class but its not really something to be excited about considering how many classes we didn’t have that I would have liked to have taken.

Looks like I’ll have a slim chance of getting in. If anyone else would like to provide feedback on my chances, it would be greatly appreciated >_<!

uh… ur not gonna get in.

JK!
You have a great chance as anybody else does. Relax.

SATs are a liiiiittle low, but everything else is hunky-dory :)

Good luck to you!

Does anyone have a program where I/we can input our stats and get a rough comprehensive review score? Sorry for intruding.

@Indianjatt - mychances. net is a good site for predictions

you’re a president of interact club in california? i might know you xD

Well there are two different districts in California. I’m part of District 5160. And I’m only president of my club…

I would say it’s probably a very low reach, your GPA is a little low as well as your SAT I. And by little, I mean really little. I don’t think extracurriculars really matter at SD, as it’s worth like 300pts for a leadership position.

Thanks for the help guys. UCSD decisions are out. I got rejected but thanks for your support.
