Chance me?

<p>I'm a rising senior, and would like any feedback on my chances for admission. Thanks!</p>

<p>SAT I: CR:670, M:740, W:690; 2100 (re-taking, and feel confident that I will score higher)
SAT II: Math II: 750, Chem: 720
ACT: Probably lower 30's.</p>

<p>Our school has a strange GPA system, so I couldn't figure out what my GPA is unweighted. (Reg: 5.0/Pre-AP: 6.0/AP: 6.25)
Weighted GPA: 5.33
Rank: 16/490</p>

<p>Definitely on the right track. I think your grades are good but your SATs could be a bit better. From what I understand Cornell doesn’t put a lot of weight (if any) on the writing section, so that leaves you with a 1410/1600. Your math is fine but you should try to raise your CR to 700 or higher. You have a good range of ECs but nothing that shows a ton a depth. Maybe write an essay on being an Eagle Scout or founding Model UN that shows some depth and commitment. </p>

<p>I think Cornell would be a reach for you but I think you have a decent chance. Raising those SATs is the easiest way to increase your odds.</p>

<p>@nateheeter: Thanks, I figured the SAT was a bit on the weak side. Hopefully I can bump it up to at least a 2200 on the next test.</p>

<p>Really, for the SAT, just focus in on CR; all you need to do is increase CR by 30 points, and your score is fine. Don’t bother with any prep for writing or math.</p>
