I am going to be applying to transfer to the UCs(LA and B included)for fall of 2011. The intended major is chemical engineering. My GPA is low right now but I am hoping to raise it up to a 3.364 by the end of the fall. I would be missing calc 3, linear, differential, and physics 2 by the end of the year. In terms of extracurriculars all I have is pharmacy tech. Would I have any chance of getting accepted or should I just skip out on applying this year?

if you’re set on applying this fall you should tag somewhere, but if ur set on going to ucla or B then finish the pre reqa and raise that gpa by not applying this year…

With a 3.364 and missing prereqs you probably won’t even get into UCSB. Apply next year. UCB and UCLA consider GPA’s above 3.50 competitive (not to mention, those applicants finished all prereqs, internships, work/tutoring, etc)

If you want out of your CC, apply this year. You’ll most likely get into UCSD and UCI. Btw, don’t worry about EC’s… worry about getting your GPA up.

PS. Chem engineering includes the biology series as a prereq at UCB. If you didn’t want to do that, you can apply for their college of chem (as oppose to the college of engineering) and apply as a joint major chem engineering / materials science… G’luck but you do need to get your grades up.
