I go to a good public school in Palm Beach County, Florida. It is ranked number six in the county. </p>

<p>High School unweighted/weighted GPA: 3.85/4.34 ranking 27/524
UF GPA: 4.35
ACT Math 28
ACT English 23
ACT Science 33
ACT Reading 29</p>

<p>TOEFLL: not yet taken</p>

<p>The reason why I believe that my ACT English score is that low is because my mother tongue language is German.</p>

<p>Over 200 community hours
NHS,CHS,SHS
JV soccer two years
play on a travel soccer team
Varsity two years
Swiss Alpine Club
West Palm Beach Fishing Club
International Game Fishing Association
Work in the Everglades for the Department of Interiour

<p>You can’t expect us to help you if we don’t know what schools you’re applying to…</p>

<p>Bernard, he/she is obviously applying to UF considering this is the UF thread. No public Palm beach county school is ranked 6th in the country from my knowledge. </p>

<p>You need to bring up you ACT English to have a great shot of getting in. Right now UF is a match, but I would HIGHLY recommend you retaking the ACT because of your english section. If your english section was a ~28, you would be golden.</p>

<p>SAC’s stats are plenty fine for UF. What probably hurts more than the 23 ACT English score is being from Palm Beach county. UF is buried with kids from Palm Beach/Broward area; with the same stats, being instead from a rural north Florida county would increase admission chance for an applicant.</p>

<p>I feel your pain. Sometimes i hate how English isn’t my first language. Your comp ACT score is still high despite your English. <p>Hello everyone, this is my first post ever on this website.
Like many others, i’m going through the college admissions process, and so far UF has been my number one choice.
I’m from the State of Louisiana where i attend the top high school in the state and also nationaly ranked.</p>

<p>My grades aren’t spectacular: partying and “having fun” my sophomore and junior ruined my chances of much better stats, but i believe i’ve matured and that phase is past me… I regret the last two years of my life and have written an essay explaining that phase of my life and where I am now.</p>

<p>GPA: core 3.0… First quarter of senior year- 3.71 (taking all basics)
Rank: top 50% of my class
ACT: 29 Composite (looking to get the 30)</p>

<p>E.C.: 4 year intramerial sports, 2 years of peer support, 3 years baseball, 2 years of cheerleading, 2 years of student government… 125+ hours communiy service working in hospitals with heart attack patients.</p>

<p>Work: weekends in my mother’s bail bonding office… will recieve my own bonding license in upcoming months (passed state test) also work in an Italian restaurant bussing tables, blah blah…</p>

<p>DO i have a legitimate shot of UF admissions? Other’s help would give me peace of mind wether it be a yes or no… </p>
