Only big pull is the fact I'm from a major Boston Brahmin family. Donated a ton of land, a few buildings, scholarships, etc. to Harvard. The family is related closely to a ton of other big political families as well. Currently, we're helping them by donating artifacts to a museum on campus. Everyone in my family since 17xx (it's too easy to google the date + Harvard to find out who I am, sorry~) has gone to Harvard, except my parents, but they definitely know who we are. I know people say legacy is featherweight, but it's a sliding scale, not a constant.

an interresting article about legacy:
[10 Myths About Legacy Preferences in College Admissions](http://chronicle.com/article/10-Myths-About-Legacy/124561/)

Sorry, unless your parents are actively donating now to Harvard (in the 7 digits+) your chances are not that great. For the amount of privilege and affluence you claim, you would be expected to have top-notch scores and ECs. Both are below average for Harvard. Try for mid 700 SATs and regional, national awards.

I’ve been published but I’m not listing where, in one international book, in a few regional, and current donations from the family far exceed that range.

How are we supposed to know? Obviously, since the merit part of your application would lead to a rejection, admission for you depends upon the extent that your psuedo-legacy status matters. Since we don’t know who your family is, we have no way of knowing what will happen.

N.B. Do yourself a favor and don’t list “fantasy novel dedicated to you” on your application. How does that reflect your accomplishments at all? Your great work as a 7 year old will probably be disregarded too.

Good luck!

I don’t think merit would get you in, but your family’s influence should go a long way.

Get your SATs up and your pull should be able to give you a good chance. ECs are week but pull can cancel that
