Raise that SAT score by 150-ish and have a decent essay and you’re guaranteed in. WUSTL could almost be a safety for you, don’t even worry about it.

Your test scores kill your application. Get a 2200+ to stand a reasonable chance at admission.

gssmiles, you’re wrong and spreading false information. A 150-point SAT boost would result in a 2080, which is only the 25th percentile at Wash U. Plus, Wash U is a safety school for no one.

I agree with MW2isawesome that the OP would need a much higher SAT score for a good chance of admission.

wow guys thanks for two conflicting advices…but i do agree that my SAT scores are way too low…but i don’t see them improving either…and why is it that people over here only look at the SAT score…its not the only thing that matters…if it were so then why the hell would people take APs which are way harder than these stupid SATs

SAT isn’t the only factor, but it’s a big one. And I would take gssmile’s post with a grain of salt, consider he/she isn’t even a Wash U student…

Clock- gssmile is 1)not even a student 2) clearly not aware of how tough the admissions are at WashU. Your class rank is 9%, which isn’t bad since there are only a 100 kids in your class, your GPA is fine. And your ECs are good, especially the research component, pretty impressive. However, your SAT scores are way below the 25th percentile for WashU. To even have a shot, you need to improve your SAT scores, everything else seems fine. Good luck.

Also, be aware that other asian indian applicants will have just as impressive if not more impressive resume as yours.

If you think you can’t improve on the SAT (take a course? practice?), take the ACT instead.

haha, how do you know I’m not a student? I’m aware of how tough admissions are at WUSTL. I’m just saying, I don’t think he doesn’t have any chance at all without raising his SAT score. Maybe I was wrong in saying it’s a safety, but you def. have a chance, and even more so with a higher SAT score. I wasn’t trying to “spread false information”.Actually btw, palmalk is right- look into taking ACT and SAT IIs.

You don’t need SAT IIs, just ACT - you already have your AP stuff… don’t overload yourself. (Unless you think you can get like 2100+ on your SAT, I highly recommend taking the ACT like the posts above have said)

gssmiles, we know you’re not a student because you posted a chance thread less than a week ago… =/

And nobody here said the OP has “no” chance of getting in with that SAT score…all we said was that it will take a significant boost to stand a reasonable chance of admission.

RaVN- that there is some serious ownage.

^Agree with Johnson.

haha wow people are just pounding gssmiles because he said WashU was a safety school for me because i only have a 1930 SAT…if only i were born here and was significantly fluent in english, i could have gotten way more than 580 on my CR and 640 on Writing…sadly colleges don’t care about this part.
So do you guys think that if i only raise my score by lets say a 100 points, to make it a 2030 (which i would say is in my reach), i would significantly (as in by more than 25%) raise my chances?

Well, a 2030 is still quite low for WashU. I would recommend perhaps trying the ACT (or getting a 2200+)? I didn’t do so well on the SAT but did much better on the ACT, it really is dependent on the test taker. In terms of not being completely fluent in English, perhaps mention this in your additional information section on the Common App. Best of luck!

I also suggest to try the ACT. On the SAT, reading and writing make up 2/3 of your total score, while the ACT adds science, so reading and writing are only 1/2 of your score.
