I am a little worried about my SAT scores.

I think you have a decent shot as long as your essay’s are good. I know quite a few people who attend Fordham and they have very similar SAT scores as yours.

You are on the lower half of the middle 50th percentile. Not saying you are on the bubble, but not saying you are an easy admission either. Your EC’s will help you. Your IB diploma will help you. I presume you will have stellar recommendations with nary a concern or blemish.

I think you will have a decent shot. Did you apply early action? I STRONGLY recommend that and today is the deadline so use the common application online by midnight tonight if at all possible and worry about the recommendations and transcript later. Send your SAT scores now.

I have no doubt you would succeed if you were admitted to Fordham. The rigor of your IB diploma will fit well at Fordham, which is an academic school where you will write a LOT of papers and have a rigorous four years of academic study.

Are you applying to FCLC or FCRH? If you don’t specify, they will presume FCRH. FCRH has more space available because there are more dorms available. Its the main campus in the Bronx and its very pretty, gated and safe.

My D1 goes to Fordham and we are southerners and she has done EXTREMELY well and she came from a public school as well.

Best of luck to you.

Thank you antonia7 and ghostbuster for your input.

And in answer to your questions, I am plannaing on applying to Rose Hill but I switched Seattle U’s ea deadline which is the 15th with Fordham’s ea deadline so, no, unfortunately, I did not apply early action. On the bright side I am taking the SAT again on Saturday and am expecting to do much better in Math, plus applying regular decision gives me more time to critique my essays. So, I guess I’ll see how it goes.
