chance mee

I am a Junior at a very competitive High School. The school however does not offer many AP's, only in senior year. I ahve roughly around a 95 average and i have a 2160 on the SAT's and plan to take the ACT as well. I have a 670 in Italian, 700 in Us History and ^70 in world history regarding the SAT 2's. My senior courses will include: AP Gov and Politics, Ap ENv science, pre calculus, economics, shakespear, world literature. italian 4, and 2 religion classes which i am required to take.
I am fluent in Italian. I have been part of The italian federatoin of italian american organizations of Queens and have been teaching italian to elderly and children. I am also apart of the youth court. i also have started a pilgrimage at my school to Assisi for next year. I volunteer at the MET and will be volunteerin the FIERI which is another non porfitable italian american organization. Every year I ahve gone to italy and have helped raised fundraisers in my town due to the lack of neccesties and due to the lack of money there is. For instance, soon there will be no longer be a pastor in the town since there is no money and everyone is moving out. Each year I raise fundraisers for the club that we have in New york that is made up of a majority of the people who are from our town and we send it over. Also I help arrange the feasts for the saints and gatherings at the square. i truly love my italian culture and will always try to spread it.
In school i am the president of italian club, co captin of the speech and debate team, coach of mock trial, in the yearbook committee, peer counselor, NHS,Natiional foreign language honor society, bio club, retreat leader, eucharistic minister, deans aid, tutor and part of the school newspaper. In in model UN and I also volunteer at Amnesty International.
Awards: 5th palce states speech, 3rd place speech finalist, 4th place speech finalist, 5th place congress finalist, participated in the National Italian exam and recieved a plaque. NHS, FLHS, profile in courage award, and hopefully others to come.

I am a white female who would love the oppurtunity to be a student at this school

just stating the obvious, your sats need to be higher.

Other than that, I say write a good essay, get good recs, and blow away your interviewer. Then you’ll have some awesome chances.

BTW it is better for those reading your chance post if you write it in a tabular format. No one wants to read complete sentences and whole paragraphs.

lol sorry, I just joined but I understand what you mean and Thank you

Since you’re a Junior you’ll have several opportunities to improve your SATs, so assuming that goes well you’ll be in good shape. I’d also recommend retaking the SAT IIs–try to get them into the 750 range. Especially considering a lot of ECs center around Italian, they’ll be expecting more than a 670 (which is actually only the 36th percentile on that exam). This all assumes that Italian is not your Native language though. If it is, you’d be better taking another subject test all together–taking an SAT II foreign language test in your native language is a joke.

yes I took us and world history as previously stated

i would also like to add that i will taking a 6 week summer program at boston college this summer getting 6 college credits my two courses are philosophy and french revolution. Also can someone tell me if id have a better chance applying ED or RD thank you guyss
