Asian?
Nothing too special. Research is always good, some leadership is good. Stats are fine. ACT/SAT could be higher. I don’t see anything too special, and that won’t help if you’re Asian. A chance at Ivies, but not a good chance. Great essays would help, recs need to be solid. I really don’t see it. Almost like any other applicant (strong, but unhooked, and therefore unlikely).

^yes, i am asian. How should I try to stand out? I might get a job as a lab assistant next year if that helps at all.

Should i retake ACT and try to push it to 34ish or what?

It certainly won’t hurt. 32 is a bit low for Ivies. It won’t be the most important factor, but having a higher score means you won’t have to wonder if they rejected you because you decided a mediocre score was good enough.

I don’t know. Job experience is a plus. But to stand out is really difficult, and I think that’s just an overall problem for all Asians. Do something great in something you enjoy, and that will help. If you are into scientific research, publishing a paper would be amazing. Of course, it may or may not be realistic, but that’s just an idea.
