<p>Okay, so I'm a 17yr old African American girl and UCLA is my dream school.</p>

<p>My stats:</p>

<p>GPA: 4.3
SAT: 1700</p>

<p>Extracurriculars: 50+ hours (voluntering at elementary school & food pantry)</p>

<ul>
<li>Student Council ( representative 10th grade, vice-pres 11th grade & president 12th grade)
*Newspaper Editor-in-Chief 10th grade</li>
<li>NHS member</li>
<li>Participated in Drama Club & Art Club</li>
<li>Participated in Girl Scouts</li>
<li>My school offers no sports or band</li>
<li>I go to an early college high school, so most of my highschool credits come from a community college, and I will graduate highschool with an associates degree.</li>
</ul>

<p>I know my SAT is pretty low, but I think I did well on my personal statements. I need the honest truth, do you think I am qualified as competitive for ucla? I am really nervous about it. The decisions are out next month. I also applied to UCDavis UCBerkley & UCSD . I know berkley is far-fetched but hey. Anyway, Im already accepted to my safety school which was the only other school I applied to... oh and I'm OOS, so you should put that into consideration . Thank you :)</p>

<p>I’d say UCLA is a low reach. The UCs put a lot of emphasis on grades and test scores. Also, your grades are weighted, so do you know the unweighted version? The unweighted ones are the important part. Good luck!</p>

<p>UCLA is definitely a reach, especially considering you’re out of state. Sorry, but your SAT score is killing you. </p>
