chance meeee

Well, I know my chances at Harvard are pretty slim, but I was wondering if I can get some input anyway:

SAT (this is what killed me already)

=[

GPA
Unweighted: (It's a 4.0 at my school, but it's only a 94)

Numerous Awards for the Highest Average/Academic Performance:
Spanish 2 H, Advanced Spanish (4 H)
Alg 2 H, Precalc H

Bausch & Lomb Science Medal

Extracurriculars/Electives:

Currently attending a 6-week internship/conference at Boehringer Ingleheim

That's basically it.. I've done so much throughout high school to help out my community as well. Moreover, I think I wrote a great essay, and my teacher recommendations are excellent. I just believe that my low SATs are probably going to keep me from getting in (I only took them once). I would really appreciate any feedback. Should I hold onto my lingering hope?

anyoneeee?

I think you have a chance (though this is Harvard so no one ever really knows). I've talked to a lot of admissions reps from the different ivy league schools and it seems unanimously they believe that SATs compose only a marginal proportion of the admissions decision.

In the words of Yale's admission's director

"I've seen many times where the admissions board has said ' I wish these scores were higher but this is a strong application so we'll let them in anyways' but never have I heard someone go ' these are such beautiful scores, they have to get in' "

I think based on your involvement in musical events as well as a good amount of recognition and other extracurric involvement you stand a fighting chance.

Scores are a bit low, but the other stuff looks good. I'd say it's a reach, but you've still got an OK shot.
