Schools
Bowdoin. Not sure if a match or a reach, and how an ED would change that. Any input is very much appreciated  Thanks for reading all of that.

ED likely but can u afford it ? RD is a match but certainly not a reach.

I think that you should run the NPC. You will need your parent’s help. Then show the results to your parents.

Make sure that Bowdoin is your first choice.

If your parents are okay with the NPC results and you are sure that it is your first choice, then ED makes sense.

Also make sure that you have a safety. Bowdoin is not a safety.

Bowdoin’s acceptance rate was ~8% last year. It is a reach for anyone, even someone with great fundamentals like yours. If you are sure it is your top choice and the finances make sense, you should for sure apply ED. It’s still a reach, but you’ll have a much better chance than RD.

You definitely have a chance, but Bowdoin is a reach for all, regardless of the admission round. There’s no need to guess whether you will receive need based aid, run the net price calculator which is on Bowdoin’s website to get estimated COA. Good luck.

Bowdoin is a great college. But its very small. I would guess that your high school class is about twice the size of Bowdoin’s entering class. If you’re okay with that, then I think Bowdoin is a great choice.

With the class size being so small, it adds more uncertainty. Students with great stats like you can be whittled out just purely based on institutional needs.

Bowdoin’s entering classes are between 450 and 500 so roughly the same as their highschool, not roughly half the size.
