Chance my 0.16 gpa - dirty app

i'm sure that got your attention. But seriously, back in 2003, I attended two semesters of CC and received a sparkling 0.16 gpa. The previous year, 2002, I attended jc at a different cc and received a monstrous 1.76 gpa. Real winner back in the early 2000's I know. This 1.76 gpa includes several attempts from 2004-2009 where I would try to come back for a semester and end up dropping out. In total, these transcripts include 8 w's.

Fast forward to the year 2010. Life experiences and lessons learned through age, inspired me to really go back and try to get my degree. Obviously, I had multiple gorrillas on my back with those horrendous transcripts, but said , "screw it, can't live in the past". Now it''s 2011, I have a little under 100 quarter units and major in accounting. I just discovered my best friend, Mr. Academic Renewal and have already completed the process to get the 0.16 and 1.76 gpa off my cum. gpa. Colleges are going to still see my massive F' ups , but at least my gpa will look a little more respectable.

So here go the stats: 0.16 - Academic renewaled everything so i have no gpa here
1.76 pre academic renewal. 3.2 post AR through 18 semester units
3.71 Current transcript through about 60 quarter units
3.53 through 14 units (sister school to my current school)

include 10 W's dating back to 2002. 2 W's since summer 2010

Post Academic Renewal cum gpa: 3.56 - major classes for accounting completed by end of winter quarter.

schools I'm applying to: california states like san diego, poly pomona, poly, sonoma, fullerton, chico, and san francisco.

UC: santa barbara, santa cruz, riverside, irvine, davis, san diego, and a hail mary bomb to u.c.l.a.

other schools: UNLV, Oregon, Oregon St., U of Arizona, ASU, and some more that I'm still researching.

well I wanted to give an update on my situation for those in need of a little motivation. Last year at around this time I was rejected to EVERY UC…I was 27 years at the time, felt burnt out, and was ready to call it quits for college. I had a horriid academic history as previously explained in my post that spanned 4 junior colleges…Years of F’s and 13 W’s littered my transcripts…For those of you receiving rejections, Believe me, I know EXACTLY how you feel…if you are feeling like giving up or feeling like you dug yourself too big a hole, just remember that it is still possible to overcome stupid decisions and mistakes…

This time last year, I was staring at a 0.16 gpa from SBCC and a gpa in the mid 1.0’s spanning multiple years from a different JC…At 27 years old and facing rejection after rejection, I truly believed I was washed up with an academic history that was too f’d up to ever get in anywhere. Somehow, I decided to give it one more shot…I went back to JC and did the entire process all over again.

IT was the best decision of my life. Admission officers valued my recent work and weighed it more heavily than my transgressions from the past…I’ve been accepted to SDSU, UCSB, UCR, SDSU, and SFSU and waitlisted @cal poly…I’m still waiting from UCD, UCSD, UCI and UCLA.

So if you are thinking about giving up, DO NOT…I credit my newfound success mostly to Academic Renewal. If you are eligible for AR, YOU MUST DO IT…you can literally wipe away years of failures. Don’t give up, pick yourself up, and keep believing in yourself.
