<p>Great chances everywhere. Definitely in at CMU and probably Corenell… Harvard/Yale/Penn are going to be more of a reach, but she has a fantastic shot everywhere she applies. If she does Yale/Penn early, I’d say she’d probablyget in</p>

<p>Errr…I wouldn’t say your friend is AMAZING. She has decent stats, but nothing outstanding for Ivies.</p>

<p>Her ECs don’t really show focus or passion and she hasn’t held a ton of significant leadership.</p>

In at CM
Low-reach at Cornell
Reach at HYP</p>

Those SAT IIs are kinda weak, normal SATs are nothing special. ECs have no big hooks, I see largely participation/ minor wins.<br>
HYP and Cornell: may the force be with you (aka reach)
She has a good shot at Penn and CM though.</p>

<p>Let’s break down that sentence -</p>

<p>“four years participation” - PARTICIPATION - little or no leadership</p>

<p>“2 time national Catholic forensics league qualifier” </p>

<ol>
<li>Catholic forensics league? Not exactly a well-known name</li>
<li>qualifier - placing isn’t that impressive</li>
<li>I hate to say it, but forensics isn’t that notable and it’s not quirky in a good way. If it were debate, speech, robotics, etc, we’d have a different story.</li>
</ol>

<p>“lead in play”
Yawn. High school play lead? At a private Catholic?</p>

<p>“1st at regionals intel-science fair”
This is impressive, truth be told</p>

<p>Everything else:
volunteering is almost mandatory for Ivies, regional orchestra (yawn), and PSEO is good, but more APs would be more impressive.</p>

<p>Sorry if this seems tough (it is). It’s just that everyone gets their hopes up for the Ivies (myself included).</p>

<p>Also, like I said before, your stats are good, but not outstanding. You have a decent shot, but I’d still put it at maybe 15-18%</p>

<p>catholic forensics league aka she does speech, dramatic last year and prose/poetry the year before; i thought that was pretty impressive.</p>
