Have I seen this before? I got a strange sense of deja vu reading this post. Your brother has great test scores, solid class rank, and a good course load. I think his ec’s show a demonstrated passion for science (I hope that is whay he is trying for), and I think his leadership is good. The summer activities will help. All of the schools, though, are what they are. I would say there is nothing your brother can do other than to make his essays great, and he’ll have just as good a shot as anybody when it comes down to decision time. Good luck!
@jarrett211 You chanced my friend.
Your brother looks great.
But
(you knew this was coming
All of the viable candidates for HYPSM look great. He should really work on his essays and carefully pick the right colleges…he is a very strong candidate.
jesus facking christ this resume is so good i wish i had these stats and ECs
I don’t think it gets much better than that for a resume
Yes his stats are amazing!!! Although, as @SouthernHope said, acceptance will come down to the essays!
I knew a guy who had very similar stats (although instead of science clubs he was in everything to do with band, and was a nationally recognized musician with too many awards to count!) He applied to most of the Ivies and he got into Yale! But rejected from all the others. I asked him if he knew why awhile back and he said he didn’t try as hard on the supplemental essays for the other Ivies. So it really will come down to that! But good luck! Even if he doesn’t get into an Ivy, he will have awesome options.
