I'm a student in senior year looking to major in computer science.
I have a 1790 sat and about a 3.12 GPA due to dysthymia causing ADD symptoms, I live on the east coast and I need to figure out where I can get accepted.
If anyone is willing to talk to me please let me know
Thanks

My GPA is approximently 3.12
I've taken 12 honors and 4 AP classes (including my senior year)
My grades range from c+ to a-
I've only gotten two c+ during highschool and I plan to study VERY hard during my senior year to let colleges know I was struggling during my junior year and previous years as well but I'm overcoming my challenges and trending upwards.
Because computer science is a harder major I don't know how to catogorize the list into reach match etc
Which is why I need someone's help to tell me what's feasible.

My councilors and parents both think my "mild disability" as they call it will help my admissions process, and my ECs aren't greAt but
I've done band and gotten many awards and gotten into many honors bands and musical pit and jazz bands etc etc
Also did the frisbee team and I'm joining the robotics team this year as well.

if i were you i would cut down a lot on that list that is a lot of schools, and if i were u i would add Virginia Tech to that list its a great tech/comp sci school i think you would have a shot at

That is three times as many schools as you need. Really examine each college, put them into different categories based on what you like/dislike about them, organize them based on reaches/matches/safeties, and try to narrow it down by a lot.

@ranza123
You’re right I need to narrow the list down
But I need opinions on which of them are reaches and matches etc
Because I’m not sure
Otherwise you’re 100% right

As someone who lives in CT and has a lot of fellow classmates in my school that go to SHU, I would say you’re extremely competitive there. Your SAT is very good for SHU and your GPA is average for the school. NOT trying to insult you, just being purely factual, I would say Bucknell, Lehigh, and Rochester are very high stretches for your numerical stats.

I didn’t read your entire post before I posted that. A 3.1 GPA with your high AP/ Honors rigor and 1700 SAT will make you an extremely high match at Sacred Heart. If you really like the school, you should definitely consider applying.

@dpenn96 I appreciate that and realize those schools are stretches
Lehigh and bucknell do not Interest me highly anyway as they are rich white kid Greek schools although I loved rochester and I realize it’s a long shot
If you could organize some of my other colleges that would be of great help
My biggest concern with shu (besides I don’t know much about It) is the distance from Pittsburgh.
But thanks for the info
I would like to consider myself a tad more intellectual than my stats would perceive.
I know capable of great things, my friends are mostly top 10% students in AP classes and taking some of these classes with them I realize I have a high potential.
Thanks

Lots of people don’t perform in high school up to their potential, due to immaturity/ lack of interest/ blindness to the future. Don’t sweat it, youll do great in college. But ill asses a few others to the best of my ability. Keep in mind I’m not really counting the fact that you qualify yourself as partially disabled, Im just going off academic rigor, gpa, and sat. I think that Maryland and American are also somewhat high stretches, and i think your chances at providence are fantastic.

And in regards to your schools on your list that are in the midwest/ pennsylvania i can’t really asses because I’ve never done much research into schools in those areas, or known anyone that goes to them. Hope all ends up well.

Of the ones on your list that I know about, I’m going to say Binghamton, Rochester, American, and RPI are reaches. Syracuse, Stony Brook, UMass, and Miami may be good matches. I think what you need to do first though is figure out which schools you like the most, because the list as it is right now is very overwhelming to divide into further categories.
