Chance my D!

Since she is up to her ears in homework, essays and Aps I thought I would do this for her.

GPA: 4.2 (unweighted, our school gives A+= 4.3)
RANK: 6/640
ACT: 34 (35-Math, 35-Science, 34-English, 33-reading)
Strength of schedule: ALL AP's she could take
Teacher rec - great (her AP ENglish teacher)
Essays - she has a great topic, hope she finishes it this weekend.

As with all other applicants she volunteers, works two jobs, is Senior Class president, Captain of the gymnastics team, school record holder ans so on.

I always tell her it will come down to her essay (no pressure there).

Thanks, Gymmom

Grades and test scores are right there. With a well written essay, I say she looks good. She can e-mail her rep with basic stats and she/he will give your D an idea if she should apply EA. My guess is they’d say yes. Good luck!

Sounds like she has a VERY good chance, you should definitely think of going EA.

I’d say she has done everything she can as far as grades and test scores. As you and previous posters have said, she just really needs to work hard on the essay and make sure it is exceptional in order to stand out. This year with the common app, the competition is expected to be harder than ever. I would suggest maybe going EA. Last year I had similar stats, was accepted EA, and because of that was eventually accepted to the honors program. Good luck!

Definitely has an excellent shot. I’d be surprised if she doesn’t get in. She definitely has EA stats, so I’d try that so you can know whether or not she gets in by December.
