tks in advance

Vivek - I don’t believe it is hard to get into any of these schools other than Brown as a chemistry major.

How did you decide on this list? Many are quite popular for engineering.

There is a major disparity between the math 2 score and ACT Math score. She should retake ACT or take SAT.

thanks Texaspg, the uni choice was based on chemistry ranking in general . I did not find specific undergrad ranking during the searches.
any further advice greatly appreciated

Her academic achievements look fine. I see no issue with her applications to most of those schools-except Brown. If there is anything I would recommend. I would make sure that she gets unique extra curricular achievements. One of my good friends had a lower GPA (3.75), but had phenomenal achievements out of the classroom (shadowing a district judge) and was able to successfully get into Dartmouth for Business Law. If she plans to go into Chemical Engineering involvement in local firms or associations can really help. If general chemistry is her goal then a potential winter/summer internship could help. Universities like Brown already have enough high GPA’s to look at, when comparing, they are looking for the “brag” factor. I wish her the best of luck in her endeavours.

Your daughter has great academic achievements, such as for courses, GPA, and test scores. Her biggest downfall will be the lack of major E.C.'s, and by extension, the lack of leadership.

UIUC- Match

UCB- Reach
Colorado-Boulder- Match

I am sure she will have an interesting essay after living in so many countries. That probably also makes it hard to develop any EC. Make sure put that in the essay too.

I am not certain ranks would apply that well to Chemistry undergrad. If you are full pay and international, is it worth paying 60k to a public school? Having lived in so many countries, she would have interesting essays to write for most elite private schools. Add several top 30 schools to the list and see what happens. I definitely recommend Rice, Northwestern, USC, Cornell.
