I did E.D. to Northwestern (they take 50 percent of applicants haha)
Sat 1: one sitting 2140 730 cr, 720 writing, 690 math
Sat 2: 730 2c, 670 physics
Gpa: unweighted 3.5
classes:
freshman year: eng honors, alg 2 honors
soph: math analysis, eng honors, chem honors, history honors
junior: ap eng, ap calc, ap phys, history honors
senoir: ap stats, ap gov, ap es

exc: tutored at kumon for free 4 years, Microsoft internship (400 hours) written rec on microsoft paper sent, tennis 4 years

Bonus: since my dad works in korea, our annual american income is 20,000; raised by mom (single parent) since dad is out of nation

Essay: wrote about microsoft internship (wrote with ap eng teacher so its good)

i don;t think northwestern takes 50% of all eders but close to that =D
unweighted gpa, sat 2, and sat 1 (nw count sat 1 writing as a sat 2) is kind of weak...but gl anyhow =D

I think you could get deferred. Remember, just because 50% might get admitted under EA, doesn't mean its easier. Usually, this is where the high rollers apply and admissions boards are usually more conservative during this time.

standards is not lowered its only because they factor in the fact that you want to go to their school so much hence ed. >< personally my school in the past 3 years did not have anyone accepted below a 3.6 but there is always an exception gl!

Applicants who choose Early Decision send a strong, positive message to Northwestern. Given their high level of interest and overall academic and personal strength, the rate of admission for our Early Decision applicants is higher than our overall admit rate. We do not make a practice of deferring Early Decision applicants into our Regular Decision plan.

That's straight from the website. There really is no point asking your chances at this point. You are going to find out your decision very soon. I know you want a confidence boost, but there is no need to keep bumping your thread.

My opinion on your chances...your scores are within range, but your GPA is below average. However, that may be because your school is very tough...what is your class rank?
