Chance my final list! I will chance you back!

I'd like opinions, now that I've finalized my list of schools. I'm interested in majoring in Art History and Chemistry, and going to grad school for art conservation.

TESTING:

SAT: 2290 (740V, 750M, 800W) (PSAT: 223 (71V, 80M, 72W) - WILL RETAKE

GPA: 3.97 UW (One 89, all other As)
4.214 W (On a scale of 4.8, but no one ever gets a perfect -or close- 4.8) - 100 = 5.0/4.0, 99 = 4.9/3.9, 98 = 4.8/3.8, etc. 4.8 is what you can get if you make perfect grades in all required classes (mixture of weighted and unweighted)
Not ranked

APS:
Lang: 5
APUSH: 5
Physics B: 4
AP Art History: 3 (Took it without studying. The class at my school was also a complete joke.)

School is top 50 public school in US. We're a magnet school.

All classes are the highest level possible. This means all Pre-AP/AP/Honors (And the higher level when we have two Pre-AP levels).

Senior Year: AP Calc BC, Honors Diff EQ, AP Euro, AP Lit, AP Gov, AP Econ, AP French, Honors Orchestra, Honors Adv Biotech

IMPORTANT: I went to Montessori schools through 9th grade, and when my prior school ended, I transferred into my current school for 10th grade. This means that I only had 3 years of possible commitment for school activities. It also means that I wasn't really prepared for the rigor of my current school's curriculum.

Extra Curricular Activities:

Orchestra:
11-12 Years double bass (since 1st grade) - Not applying to music school because I don't really want to only do music for the rest of my life
Will send in artistic supplement (and it will be good)
Went to Interlochen (6 week summer intensive arts program)
All-Region (and section leader) - but I've never auditioned for state (probably will this year though)
Section leader at school, also top group
I've done tons of various youth orchestras (always top group)
Probably officer position in school orchestra next year

Orchestra club VP
We tutor students in orchestra, do chamber music, etc.

Cross Country/Track:
Soph+
District Runner Up in all events in 2011-2012
District Champion 2012-2013 - Top 10 or so in my division of state
Team Captain, etc
Will be recruited at some D3 schools, and possible some D1

NHS - Pretty big at our school, just a member

Mentoring - Mentor freshman students every two weeks for a class period

Knitting Club - Knits hats for kids with cancer

Environmental Club

Chess Club

Magic Card Game Club

Academic Awards:
Got Duke TIP recognition
National Merit Semi-Finalist
AP Scholar with Honor
High Scorer on National French Exam

Scientific Research:
Participated in a very selective(~15%) research internship program for 6 weeks this summer.

Essays will be good. I got an 800 on SAT writing, so yeah.

I'm also a totally normal, non disadvantaged white male. Both of my parents went to college and are now professors.

Couple questions and a comment:
Why retake the PSAT as a Senior, other than to be completely obsessive about your scores?
What does likely athletic recruit mean? Do you know this to be true or is it a guess?

Make sure to get others to read your essay and get the proper checks, etcetera. SAT CR +Writing aren’t really worth much, especially since the most writing you do is filling in bubbles.

Uh, I meant SAT retake, not PSAT.

I put likely because nothing is really set in stone. Also I’m not applying ED which is where recruitment provides the biggest benefits. But at those schools, I have had lots of contact with coaches, and some have told me for sure that I will have support in admissions.

UChicago (Brother attends)- low reach
Columbia - reach
Cornell - reach
Penn - reach
Stanford - low reach
Yale - high reach

I don’t know about Athletic recruits, so this is just for a normal admission.
Would you chance me back? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1549918-chances-international.html

You really have good grades. I would say Apply to all of them and see wat happens. Chance me!!

Thanks, Wizady!

Anyone else? Link me and I’ll get you back ASAP.

Any more responses? Thanks!

It’s always important to consider all Ivy Leagues as high reach schools due to their standards being very high and often times ambiguous. Stanford is a low reach with your legacy and UChicago you have a low reach with that early action shot. Do you really want to go to UChicago or is it a side school? Because if you actually get in, it’s binding and you’ll have to go there if you do the early action app.

UChicago Early Action is non binding. That’s why I’m applying there early.

SWM

“It’s always important to consider all Ivy Leagues as high reach schools due to their standards being very high and often times ambiguous. Stanford is a low reach with your legacy and UChicago you have a low reach…”

Look at the admit rates.

I’m not going to lie to you, nothing is a sure shot with the Ivies. I do like your chances forAmherst and Bowdoin. How good is your essay for UChicago?

I have some pretty good ideas, but I haven’t written it yet, so I’m honestly not sure.

UChicago - low reach
Columbia - reach
Cornell - reach
Penn - low reach
Stanford - low reach
Yale - high reach
